Award
Criteria & Values
The
Essence of Humanity Award is presented
to:
I. Individuals who have overcome challenges through
adversity or obstacles involving economic hardship,
physical disabilities, physical and/or mental illness, etc.
II.
Caregivers who have exhibited values worthy of recognition in delivering
special care for those individuals
described in I. above. These
individuals may fall under the category of parent, extended family
member,
coach, teacher, mentor, guidance
counselor, neighbot, benefactor, etc.
The selection of the Award winner in each of the categories above
will be made by the respective Steering Committee in the local area,
based on the criteria cited. Each nomination will be considered
on its own merits, but also in relation to other nominations submitted.
If the Steering Committee determines that there is no clear winner
or that nominations do not meet the established standards, an Award
may not be presented in that year.
